Red Mysore masala chutney is a dish served as an accompaniment to dosa, idli and various other south Indian meal. This chutney can also be used as a spread inside of Mysore masala dosa making it spicier and tastier. Ingredients: Oil – 1tbsp Sesame seeds – 2 tbsp Onion chopped or sambhar onions – 1 cup Garlic cloves – 6 nos Curry leaves – handful Grated coconut – 1 cup Dry red chilli (soaked 3-4hrs) – 6-8nos Tamarind – a small piece Roasted channa dal – 2tbsp Salt – to taste Water – as needed Method In a pan heat oil and add sesame seeds. Site and cook for a minute. Add chopped onions, garlic and curry leaves. Cook the onions for 2 mins. Remove from heat and add all these including grated coconut, dry red chilli(which was soaked for an hour), tamarind, roasted channa dal, salt and water into a grinding jar. Grind to a coarse paste. This can be refrigerated for upto 2 days.
