Oxford High School students described a chaotic scene in which a voice came over the intercom to announce an active shooter and they didn't know whether it was a drill.     the bravery and intelligence shown when teacher listens to them as equals (because haveto know these things is just overwhelmingly awful.
    i had shooter drills in high school too, but watching it as an adult is different

    @KaLa1865_2 years ago Honestly bless the teacher for signaling the students to remain seated even when they hear theyou could see the relief when they what they believed to be help and when the students were saying " he says it' s safe to go out! " and " yea but we don' t know if. "
    i' ve only seen the clip from when the shooter saysand the students rush out but this whole video is such a great example of what mindset you should have if you ever experience this. Don' t ever drop your guard no matter how much you want to run into safety. Shooters can think too and will do whatever it takes to get you.
    edit: the fear and crying of the students as they ran through the field and out the exit is so terrifying. Imagine being one of them. You just narrowly escaped what may' ve been a shooter just outside that room and you' re running through an exposed open field. Should that shooter ever step out into the field, you may ended up as one of the casualties. No kid is faster than a bullet

Recently my highschool received a shooting threat and the teachers response was horrific.
