We've Escaped to the Wilderness & We're Building our Home at a Cabin in the Woods. Go show our pal @MaxandOccy some love for his new haircut: /watch/gW8DNWqCBr8CD Here it is friends: the new adventure we've been dreaming and saving for since we first met 8 years ago. We've always envisioned moving into the woods by the lake and building our dream tiny cabin as a home base for us to come back to in between our international travels. We cannot wait to have a place to call our own!! Now that we've lived remote for 8 months we have established some daily routines we wanted to share with you. Summer weather means we're outside, attempting our very first vegetable garden and dealing with some dangerous dead trees near our property. Eamon & Bec Products ↠ handmade chai blends https://chaiwalachai.com/ ↞ ↠ cookbook & merch eamonandbec.com ↞ How Did We Get Here? Abandoning our Van in Africa https://bit.ly/2Kff0HT After an incredible 3 years of living, working, and traveling in our self converted Sprinter Van we made the very tough decision to abandon it in Africa to take a rescue flight back to Canada. As it has for all of us this global pandemic has flipped our world upside down. When our Prime Minister announced that he was sending repatriation flights over to Africa to pick up Canadians who were stuck (due to border closures) we consulted with friends and family closest to us and realized that in this time of crisis we should be back in our home country. Halting our dream of driving around the world was a hard pill to swallow which is why we knew we needed a big project to keep our mind + body busy while social distancing back here in Toronto. Enter building an off-grid tiny house on wheels!! But after nearly 6 months, we realized that our dreams of continuing van life across North America in our new van build were not a current reality with the state of the world. So, we've found ourselves pursuing something we've dreamed of since we first got together 8 years ago... a cabin in the woods 😊 Who are we? We're Eamon and Bec, a Toronto-based couple who live full-time in our self converted Sprinter Van!! SUBSCRIBE for wanderlust travel, behind the scenes of what it's really like to live in a van, and videos all about the yummy vegan food we make + eat! VAN LIFE COUPLE.

So maybe water the plants in the early morning and when the sun goes down.

@pxlbarrel3 years ago One method of saving your trees is wrapping the trunk in burlap. This is what york region is recommending. Maybe you can do this on the trees closest id="hidden34" to the cabin:
wrap burlap around the trees trunk at chest height, secure with a string or rope in the centre and fold the top half over the bottom half to form a bit of a ring. The best time to check the burlap bands is in the afternoon, when the caterpillars seek refuge from the heat of the mid-day sun. Caterpillars can be removed and placed in a bucket of soapy water for a day or two before disposing of them. Always wear gloves when handling caterpillars and egg masses to avoid an allergic reaction
note: check your burlap bands daily to ensure birds or any other wildlife dont getcaught

@Rememberwho13 years ago Hey bec! Absolutely love your garden! Just thought you might want a small tip - dont water the leaves directly under the sun if you can help it - i id="hidden42"t can cause them to burn. If you do it in a weak or diluted sun - like first thing early in the morning or late in the evening it causes less overall damage to the plant.
and also watering your plant for 1-2 mins really helps make sure the soil is saturated. However yours are in pots so you can probably cut that in half - but just some food for thought!
    they look fantastic great job!
