Sledgehammer Test for Impact Resistance and Durability of SpexCrete™ Lightweight Concrete

We tested the durability and impact resistance of Spex•Crete™ Lightweight Concrete by dropping a sledgehammer onto a form from a height of about 6 feet (~1.8 meters) to determine how well Spex•Crete™ lightweight concrete withstands extreme forces. You can see the Spex•Crete™ Lightweight Concrete form easily adhered to an existing piece of concrete and created a new form. As you can see, the 4,000 psi (~27.5 MPa) of compressive strength of this concrete withstood the force of the impact from the sledgehammer very well.
