WORLD FAMOUS TABASCO FACTORY (AVERY ISLAND, LOUISIANA)

TABASCO is the most famous pepper sauce on the planet. We were curious to see how the sauce is made, so while in Louisiana we decided to visit Avery Island to find out. Avery Island, Louisiana is home to the TABASCO Factory. At the factory we did the self-guided tour of the TABASCO Museum, Pepper Greenhouse, Barrel Warehouse, Avery Island Conservation, Salt Mine diorama, TABASCO Country Store, TABASCO Restaurant 1868, and the Jungle Gardens. We learned so much about the history of TABASCO, how its made, and sampled many TABASCO products (TABASCO flavored ice cream was actually delicious). We loved the food at the TABASCO Restaurant. The chili was so good that we had to buy some to make later. After touring the museum and the factory stops, we recommend driving around the Jungle Gardens.
